While some people may think voles are cute little critters, the truth is they can do quite a bit of damage to your lawn in the spring. In the spring, your lawn is not growing, but the crowns and roots of your lawn are still very inviting to voles. Voles move through the lawn, eating the nutrient rich portions of the grass in your lawn and make these intricate designs on your lawn as they go. The tunnels can be up to three inches deep. They start very localized in one area of your lawn, near the nesting site of the voles, but left untreated, the tunnel systems can expand to cover a large area in the lawn. These tunnels can be tough to help recover by spring and often, we end up having to wait until fall to repair this damage. We prevent vole infestations by baiting the voles and removing the voles we can find after the bait has done its job. The bait we use is not attractive to other animals and is hidden from your domestic pets so it’s safe to use. We are only targeting control over these little lawn-destroying buggers.
